Lambchop

Adam met Lambchop, aka "Lambie".  My furry sister performed at the pinnacle of patience, allowing Adam to tug away at her coat.  Trust me, I know what it's like when he grabs a handful of hair.  Ashley slept through the photo shoot, still recovering from her cold.  We'll catch her next time.

Overall happiness

Happiness is a pair of comfy overalls.

Daddy doesn't have a pair of overalls.  Maybe next time?

They Might Be Giants

Adam and Ashley are gearing up for Super Bowl XLVI.  Mystic Lake Mama machine embroidered bibs one evening -- you can't purchase these in Boston!  The little ones learned quickly during the playoffs that you have to reserve the best seating in advance:

stadium seating
learning how to work a remote
false start - offense!

The Great Pumpkins

Tonight we tried pumpkin.  Adam ate a surprising amount!  Ashley didn't seem to be excited one way or the other, preferring formula instead.

Don't photograph me while I'm chewing!

What is Mom feeding me now?

Footloose

For all of Ashley's scooting around on the blanket, it was Adam who discovered his feet first.

Clearly we're not feeding Adam enough if he has resorted to chewing his toes.

Licking lips in anticipation of the day she discovers her own feet.

Maybe I'll eat his feet instead?

hmmm.... will he notice?

Smile!

Bottoms Up

We interrupt our regularly scheduled "Ashley and Adam Hour" to bring you the latest lakefront wildlife sighting.

A pair of swans was spotted bottoms up from our living room.  No idea what is so exciting down under, but they were at it for quite a while.  Perhaps they were practicing synchronized swimming for the London 2012 Olympics?  Sunny, a neighborhood dog, tried to take part.

And you thought we gave the babies something to drink....

Give Peas a Chance

All we are saying is give peas a chance.

Yum!

It's better on my fingers than on the spoon!

Paparazzi is Sidelined

As you may have noticed, the paparazzi following Adam and Ashley has been quiet as of late.  Adam and Ashley have caught their first cold.  Boogers aren't photogenic.

Both citizens are in good spirits and eating well despite their illness.

On another front, our family is thrilled to have Ana join us as an au pair.  She will be living with us this year helping to care for Adam and Ashley, studying at a local university and learning more about American culture.

We'll post our first family photo as soon as the colds clear up.

Having a Ball!

Adam and Ashley attended the Next Steps Class at Isis.  The babies played in a germ pit -- I mean ball pit -- at the last class.

Who tangled this?
It wasn't me!
What's going on over there?

month five

Adam and Ashley are five months old!  Today they are sporting the latest in North Face baby clothing.  Not only is this tres chic in the USA, but our night nanny tells us that North Face is all the rage in Nepal. These two are more fashion forward than their parents!

Thought we'd sneak in a few shots of the both Adam and Ashley's "north face".

First Test at Harvard

Today Adam and Ashley participated in an infant developmental study in Elizabeth Spelke's lab at Harvard University.  This particular study looks at how infants perceive the concept of social conformity.  Dr. Spelke's lab has been written about in the New Yorker.  Both enjoyed the experience.  Adam and Ashley follow in the footsteps of their father, a long-time fan of cognitive studies conducted in William James Hall.

The study offers a small gift to participants.  To underscore the value of social conformity, Mystic Lake Mama selected matching Harvard shirts for Adam and Ashley to wear.  Mystic Lake Daddy loves them!

Love at First Bite?

Not exactly.  The citizens aren't big fans of oatmeal, but they've been willing to try for the past two mornings.  We'll see how this progresses.

Ewoks in the Park

Today Adam and Ashley were bundled up in their fancy cold weather gear.  Turns out it makes them look like adorable Ewoks.  The trip garnered mixed reviews from our little citizens:

"Wheeeee!  A swing! Two thumbs up!" -- Ashley

"This outfit is silly.  No swing is worth this humiliation." -- Adam
