Spring Hike

Last weekend we took our first spring hike.  Notice a difference this year?  That's right!  The citizens are hiking on their own!

At each Music Together session, Miss Katherine hauls out a large container of instruments.  It's a toddler free-for-all.  Ashley and Adam have always zeroed in on one instrument in particular.  Good thing they have two of them!

RV Dreams

MLD and I might have finally lost our marbles.  We took the kids to an RV show in Providence, RI, one Sunday to see if there was an RV that could accommodate us, Karla and the citizens.  Please keep all editorial comments to yourself.  No... that wouldn't be fun.  Add your editorial comments to this post.

Anyway, Ashley loved this show.  She wanted to climb into each and every rig.  When she found one she really liked, she would do a "Snoopy dance" in the middle of the rig to prove it.

Knock Yer Socks Off

This was pretty close to knockin' yer socks off.  I asked Adam to help Ashley remove her socks so I could put them into the bathtub.  This was his clever approach:

Giovanna Gelato

We were at the Wayland Winter Farmer's Market when we saw Giovanna Gelato.  I couldn't resist getting some for the kids, especially since it's owned by a friend of mine;  Ashley and Adam certainly didn't mind.

Ashley's First Selfie

Ashley doesn't know what a selfie is.  But her mommy does!  As I write this, it's exciting technology that Ashley can record herself.  By the time Ashley is my age, selfies like this will be old hat.  Wonder what will capture her imagination then?

One morning I wanted to clean up the kitchen, but I needed a way to occupy the citizens.  Water painting.  Bingo!

Citizen Chefs

I've heard that the best way to get kids to eat new foods is to enlist their help while cooking.  On today's menu:  lentil salad with chickpeas made fuss-free with the slow cooker.  The A-Team was thrilled to be tapped for their culinary contributions.

Noodle Necklaces

Every since the Bling post, I've been looking for ways for the kids to make jewelry.  Then I remembered:  pasta!  

St Patrick's Day

When I was just a wee lass, my grandfather would bring us green bagels to celebrate St Patrick's Day.  I have no idea where to find green bagels in Boston, so I settled on some clover-shaped cookies with plenty of green sprinkles a few days ago and took some photos:

Grandma and Papa had the same idea on Friday.  They mailed Anna's famous cookies to the citizens, who promptly gobbled them up:

Our dear neighbor made beautiful Purim monkey masks for Adam and Ashley to wear today.  Ashley proudly modeled her monkey.  Adam was a bit more reluctant, so Ashley held up his monkey on her belly.  The masks are truly a labor of love.  Thanks Iba!

Spinning

Adam and Ashley were thrilled to discover that not only did our hotel room have this cool chair, it also spins!

Vacation!

Adam and Ashley finally learned the real meaning of a vacation:  a pool inside the hotel.  They both thought this was the best thing since sliced bread.

Picnic in Portland, ME

Took a family vacation to Portland, ME.  Smart mommy packed a picnic lunch for everyone, but forgot to find a place where one can eat a home-packed lunch in a snowy city.  Oops!  We improvised:

Lollipop kids

A visit to the local show store yielded a new pair of shoes for Ashley and lollipops for both kids.  Wahoo!

Newton's Laws of Motion

Adam and Ashley sing into their microphones all of the time.

The citizens are old enough to stand at the sink and entertain themselves.  I wonder... how long will it be before they are able to help with the dishes?

Ashley and Adam were roaring at each other.  It turned into a cute moment.

Silent Movie

Remember the days when movies had no sound?

Neither do I.

OK, OK, so this clip is not an homage to the silent film stars of the early cinema.

It's an homage to Baba and Dyehda who played outside in the snow with Ashley and Adam so that MLM could stay inside in a warm -- and quiet! -- home.
