Gelato Everywhere
The citizens may be older, but eating some foods is still a full body experience. I don't mind. That's what a bath is for.

Tumblebus!
When the Tumblebus rolled into camp last week, we didn't know what to expect.
Wowza! What fun that was!

Where are the seats on this bus? |
Good thing there are no seatbelts. This wouldn't be as much fun.... |
Monkey bars? On a bus? |
Just like the bouncy house, but on a bus! |
Look Mommy! I can do it by myself! |

Shabbat Sing
Each Friday the campers learn about Shabbat. Here's a snapshot (or two) from the second week of camp:

Wiggles and Giggles
Over the past 2+ years it was very easy to take all of these photos of Adam and Ashley because, well, we were together all of the time! Now that the A-team is going to camp, I wondered how I was going to keep up the blog. Enter Shelley Rossman, the director of our camp. Each day Shelley and her staff take photos of all of the kids at play and post them on line for everyone to enjoy.
Of course it's not the same experience for me, but I'm happy to be able to continue posting the blog!
The camp hosted a "Wiggles and Giggles" game on the first day. Here are the photos:

Backyard Camping
Ahhh... another milestone in suburban childhood has been reached. We went camping in the backyard! This wasn't exactly a planned event, and I didn't have any marshmallows, so we improvised and told the kids it was a big treat to sit in front of a campfire and eat ice cream. Which it is, really. How often do you have ice cream when you go camping?

Lexington Lions
The Lexington Lions sponsor an annual carnival. Remembering how much fun we had at the last carnival, we sped on over to purchase tickets and go on our favorite rides:
Hard to see, but Daddy is sitting with the kids on this tugboat ride. Look in the middle of the boat and you'll see his white shirt.
While Daddy took Adam to the Magic Bus ride, I took Ashley on the ferris wheel. Although she was having fun, as you'll soon see, she kept asking me when it was going to go faster. That's my girl!

Battle of the Balloons
Not quite sure who won.
For the record, the balloons are still afloat in my kitchen. Sigh.

Bike Ride
For his first big ride of the season, MLD hitched the buggy to the bike and threw the kids in. Here's their general response:
Pretty well received, eh? MLD packed up and headed west. (Well, technically northwest, but you know what I mean.)

Washed Out
As those on the East Coast recall quite clearly, July 4, 2014 was a big wash out, not a big celebration. Before the Storm Arthur gave us the first great soaking of July, the A-team dragged their daddy outside to see what the big deal was all about:

Attleboro Park
We met our friends in a really fantastic park out in Attleboro, MA. There was a fun playground, a huge slide and a small zoo. And it was all shaded! Amazing! Our friend Beth recorded this clip for us so I could watch Ashley tackle the big slide.
Wanna see just how big this slide is? Check it out:

First Day of Camp
OK, so I'm a little behind in my posts. It's understandable; the citizens manage to fit a lot into their day. It's not easy to record it all.
The first day of camp was on July 7. Adam and Ashley were scrubbed, brushed and ready to go. So what's a sentimental mother to do? Photograph the event, of course!

Post-bath hair
It's rare to catch Adam hamming it up for the camera. Karla coaxed out the best in him for this series.

Karla the Photographer
Karla's been hiding a secret from me: she's been photographing the kids for months. She's taken some beautiful photos and it's time to share them with you, our loyal readers.
Sure hope our neighbors don't mind the extra dandelions we're blowing their way.....

Driving
Adam really wants to drive. Really. He asks us at least 2-3 times a day if he can "dwive Daddy's new dahk gway Soo-BAH-woo". This kid is turning into a car fanatic. Ashley's content to ride shotgun. In this clip he's settled for a spin in the slightly less sporty minivan.

Culinary Institute
Every now and then our kitchen is transformed into a culinary institute. On this particular morning, the toddlers were helping me make egg cups.
The results were deeeee-lish!

Midway Madness
We were driving through Acton on Saturday when we spotted a local carnival. I cast aside any motherly concerns, purchased a slew of tickets, and put the kids on the rides. It was a hoot! Only problem: my phone was running low on battery, so the video clips are very short.
First stop: Merry Go Round
Second stop: Alien ship
Third Stop: Riding Fast Red Racecars!
In this clip, we tried to capture the look of pure joy on Ashley's face:
Next, we did what any parent would do. Take a two year old on a roller coaster. Ashley loved it!
The final ride was on the Crazy School Bus. Unfortunately, we were out of camera battery by then. But fun was had by all!

Bubble Engineers
On a recent trip to the Museum of Science, the citizens learned how to blow big bubbles. It was lots of fun!
